BOXING COACH FOR AMATEUR FIGHTERS
Many amateur fighters train hard, but hard work alone does not guarantee progress. Fighters need correction, structure, discipline, and a coach who recognizes the details that can win or lose rounds.
Foot placement, balance, defense after punching, distance control, jab responsibility, ring positioning, and emotional control all matter. Coach Al Franco focuses on developing amateur boxers the right way, with real boxing habits that can hold up in competition.
Bad habits are one of the biggest problems in amateur boxing.
Many fighters repeat the same mistakes until those mistakes become part of their natural response. Leaning forward, reaching, dropping the hands, backing straight up, crossing the feet, standing tall after punching, or throwing without defensive responsibility can get a fighter beat.
Coach Al identifies those habits, explains why they create problems, and replaces them with better boxing responses.
The goal is not simply to throw more punches—it is to make better decisions and maintain position under pressure.
WHAT AMATEUR BOXERS
WORK ON
Training may include stance, balance, linear and lateral footwork, range control, jab development, punching mechanics, defense, head movement, counterpunching, conditioning, mitt work, bag work, controlled partner drills, and supervised sparring progression when appropriate.
Amateur fighters must learn how to establish and control range, win rounds, use the jab, defend after punching, manage pressure, maintain balance, and make adjustments during competition.
The goal is not simply to work hard. It is to develop proper habits, improve boxing IQ, make better decisions under pressure, and prepare athletes for real amateur competition.

PRE-ELITE FIGHT TEAM STANDARDS
Coach Al works with select youth and adult amateur boxers based on experience, maturity, schedule, discipline, goals, and level of commitment.
Youth athletes must have consistent parent or guardian support and the ability to follow instruction. Adult competitors must understand that amateur boxing requires technical development, conditioning, regular attendance, discipline, and serious preparation.
Participation in private amateur coaching or the competition team requires an evaluation and approval from Coach Al.
