Women’s Boxing Training in Huntington Beach

REAL BOXING INSTRUCTION FOR WOMEN AGES 18+

Coed Adult Boxing Classes and Private Coaching

Coach Al Franco Boxing offers women ages 18 and older two ways to train in Huntington Beach: structured coed morning boxing classes and private one-on-one coaching by appointment at A1 Boxing Club.

This is real boxing instruction—not cardio-boxing. Training focuses on proper fundamentals of boxing beginning with  linear and lateral movements, range control, positioning, defense, timing, punching mechanics, and controlled skill development.

Beginners and novice students are welcome. Sparring and competition are not required, and each student progresses according to experience, ability, conditioning, comfort level, and personal goals.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Women receive instruction in proper boxing fundamentals, including stance, balance, linear and lateral movement, footwork, range control, positioning, defensive reactions, timing, punching mechanics, and controlled partner drills.

Training is progressive. New students begin with the fundamentals.

The better your technique and form become, the more effective your workout becomes. As you learn to put punches together into longer combinations and add multi-directional movement, footwork, defense, and proper body mechanics, you naturally engage more muscles and increase the intensity of your training. As your skills improve, you’re able to perform more complex combinations, move more efficiently, and work at a higher level—leading to greater calorie burn, improved muscle tone, coordination, and conditioning.

We focus on teaching proper boxing technique. The fitness, conditioning, and calorie burn are the byproducts of learning how to box correctly.

IS THIS A WOMEN-ONLY BOXING CLASS?

No. The scheduled morning program is coed and available to men and women ages 18 and older.

Women receive the same structured instruction, technical coaching, and controlled development as every participant in the program.

Women who prefer individualized instruction may schedule private one-on-one boxing coaching by appointment.

DO I HAVE TO SPAR OR COMPETE?

No. Sparring and competition are not required.

Controlled partner drills may be introduced as students develop the necessary technique, defense, confidence, and control.

Sparring is optional and offered only when Coach Al determines that the student is properly prepared and the student wants to participate. The goal is to develop enough skill and confidence to apply what has been learned in a controlled setting.

Students may train strictly to learn boxing without entering the ring or participating in competition.
